Malaysian Cub Prix Championship logoIt will be business as usual for teams Felda PB Racing and Felda AFB Tech Cardinals Racing as the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship heads to Felda territory in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan this weekend for the penultimate leg of the 2015 season.

The two Felda-backed teams, run by motorsports brothers Ahmad Zamani and Ahmad Fuad Baharudin, will be eager for their young charges to put on their best performances in front of their home crowd.

“In terms of team preparations, it will be just like any other race track for us. The team’s target is always to win. The challenge for this weekend would be managing our young riders and their natural desire to win in front of their family and friends,” said Felda AFB Tech Cardinals team principal, Ahmad Fuad Baharudin.

The Felda outfit fares better in the age-capped Wira class. Saiful Izman Ahmad Zamani is ranked second overall after having secured four podiums while Md Irfan Rosnizam also made it into the top-5.

“Inexperienced riders often find it hard to manage their emotions, especially the drive to win. So far, this has been the biggest challenge for both teams,” said Fuad.

Iqbal Amri currently 7th placing in CP115 overall standings.

“Saiful Izman could have been the Wira champion this year, if he hadn’t let his emotions get the better of him. Looking at his track record, he is capable of constantly finishing on the podium if he doesn’t crash out,” Fuad gave a critical assessment of his nephew.

“I believe that given a year or two, when our riders have had the chance to mature, the Cub Prix fraternity will have to look out for the two Felda teams as championship contenders.”
