Race promoters Safe Aim Mutual would like to remind the public that registration will still be open until the end of the year.

Malaysian Cub Prix Championship logoThe Malaysian Cub Prix’s Rider Search 2017, launched a month ago to begin the registration process for the new batch of talent to debut in 2017, had generated positive response from young Malaysians drawn to the high speed sport of motorcycle racing. To date, more than 200 enquiries and entries have been received. However, with Round 8 of the PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship scheduled to take place in Temerloh, Pahang this weekend, race promoters Safe Aim Mutual would like to remind the public that registration will still be open until the end of the year.

“We would like to clarify that this registration process is merely to register their interest to be a part of either the Honda or Yamaha talent development process. From the names received, those who make the cut will be invited to an actual selection process managed by both manufacturers before a final list is announced for 2017. We would also like to explain that the MYR4,000 commitment fee is only to be paid when the rider is actually selected for the race. Until that point, young riders registering their interest and going for the selection need not pay a single sen,” said Ron Hogg, Director of Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd.

Those interested could submit their details by either visiting the Malaysian Cub Prix website – www.malaysiancubprix.com, or registering in person at the Cub Prix merchandise booth at each round of the championship.

“The Malaysian Cub Prix’s biggest strength is its ability to visit many major towns and cities around the country. By taking the registration process on the road, we widen our nets and deepen the talent pool for the next wave of Malaysian talents to rock the motorcycle racing world.”

The Honda and Yamaha mono-brand races have evolved into a very important part of the talent identification platform of the Malaysian motorcycle racing ecosystem, whereby young talents are spotted early on in their racing career and groomed for bigger challenges ahead. Successful proteges of either the Honda or Yamaha one make races include current GP riders Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, Khairul Idham Pawi, Adam Norrodin and slew of other riders like Zaqhwan Zaidi who are dominating the racing scene at the Asian level.
