The opening day of the Argentina Grand Prix saw SIC Racing Team riders Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki conclude combined Free Practice in 15th and 19th place respectively. Returning to one his favourite circuits, an eager Adam Norrodin got straight to work in FP1. Building his rhythm whilst reacquainting himself with the 4.8km circuit, Norrodin held onto a top ten position for the majority of the forty minute session, before being pipped to 14th place in the final moments. Despite struggling to immediately regain his form in Free Practice two, Norrodin persisted to push through, posting his fastest time on his penultimate lap.

Experiencing the Termas de Río Hondo for the very first time, Moto3 rookie Ayumu Sasaki used the day to learn the track and find a solid set-up for his #71 Honda machine.
Happy with his final settings, the young Japanese rider is confident he can pick up the pace and come back stronger ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying.

#7 ADAM NORRODIN
FP1: P14; 1’52.778 – 16 laps
FP2: P15; 1’51.487 –14 laps
“Conditions were good today, there was just a little bit of wind. We started well in FP1 and built our rhythm during the session to finish in 14th. Second practice was a lot harder because I wasn’t riding my best from the beginning. Towards the end of the session we changed to a medium tyre to try and push harder and make a good lap time. We finished 15th which I’m quite disappointed about. I know I can do better here! Tomorrow there is a possibility of rain, so we will have to wait and see what happens there but nevertheless I will come back with a fresh head and ready to make a good qualifying result.”

#71 AYUMU SASAKI

FP1: P24; 1’53.240 – 15 laps
FP2: P19; 1’51.717 – 14 laps
“It’s a new track for me and in first practice we couldn’t find the best feeling with my bike and myself. In second practice we found a better set-up and we improved the way it felt but we still couldn’t get a good lap time. Although we have not shown our pace today we have found a good base to work from and I feel confident that we can be competitive tomorrow.”
