“I will go to Japan leading the title chase, and I want to leave Japan with the lead still in my hands,” said Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman; Kawasaki Malaysian rider

Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman refuses to be haunted by bad memories of the Suzuka Circuit as he leads the SuperSports 600cc contingent to Japan for Round 3 of the 2017 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship from June 2 to 4.

Just like the 2016 season, the Kawasaki Malaysian rider heads to Suzuka at the front of the 600cc title hunt. Last season, Azlan lost his championship lead in Japan when a freak collission after the chequered flag left the 33-year-old with a broken leg.

This season, Azlan is determined that history will not repeat itself.

“I will go to Japan leading the title chase, and I want to leave Japan with the lead still in my hands,” said Azlan, who is still the only Malaysian rider to have ever made it to the podium at Suzuka.
