Zaqhwan will be winging his way back to Japan where the prestigious endurance event will take place at the end of the month.

Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi shrugs off travel fatigue as he flies home literally in time for Round 5 of the 2017 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship.

As one of the most sought after 600cc riders in the region, the GiVi Honda Yuzy Racing rider had spent a hectic month in Japan preparing for his fourth appearance in the upcoming Suzuka 8-Hour Endurance Race.

“I’ve been in Japan since the Aidilfitri holidays. The training and test sessions for the 8-hour had been very intense. I am now rushing home to be in time for the first free practice at the upcoming race in MAEPS this weekend,” said Zaqhwan.

“However, I’m not too concerned about fatigue. I’m more worried about the fact that I have not had time to test the bike since the change in regulations.”

Come Round 5 at the Malaysia Agrocultural Exhibition Park (MAEPS) on July 15 and 16, Zaqhwan will be in the chase to close the points gap against the current CP150 leaders. Zaqhwan had been one of the best performing Honda riders so far, ranking fourth overall with 33 points.

After a short stint back home for Cub Prix, Zaqhwan will be winging his way back to Japan where the prestigious endurance event will take place at the end of the month.
