Karma slipped down the ranks somewhat after skipping Round 4 due to a schedule clash against the Moto3 Junior Championship in Spain.

Karma Daniel Kasmayuddin is raring to get into the thick of the action as Round 5 of the 2017 PETRONAS AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship gets underway at the Malaysia Agriculture Exposition Park in Serdang this weekend.

The PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor rider has his sights set on reclaiming the championship lead. Karma slipped down the ranks somewhat after skipping Round 4 due to a schedule clash against the Moto3 Junior Championship in Spain.

“The points bank that I had built up from back-to-back wins in the first half of the season was fully depleted when I missed out on Round 4. Now, Ahmad Afif Amran (PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ) is leading by one point. I need more wins in bag in order to maintain my position. This is especially important in case I miss more rounds in the future,” said Kasma.

The young Johorian rider is in for a busy month, juggling both the national series and the Spanish championship. “I flew in from Spain on Tuesday. After the MAEPS round, I will have to fly back to Spain for the next Moto3 Junior Championship race which will take place in Estoril on July 23.”
